Jeremiah Barr (Set / Props / Puppets and TD)

Jeremiah is very pleased to once again to be working with Black Button Eyes, Jeremiah last worked on last year's Shockheaded Peter. Some of the other awesome companies Jeremiah designs with are AstonRep. Theater Company, Promethean Theater Ensemble, Congo Square Theater, Interrobang Theater Project, and City Lit Theater. Kyle Bricker (Stage Manager)

Kyle is excited to be working with Black Button Eyes for the first time. Kyle’s Chicago credits include Girl Found with Idle Muse Theatre Company and Sylvester with Lifeline Theatre. Kyle is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he stage managed productions in theatre and dance including Kingdom City, February Dance: Designed Environments, and November Dance: Six Degrees of Separation with Bessie award winner Abby Zbikowski. He was also the assistant stage manager for 1984, Polaroid Stories, and The Light in the Piazza at U of I.

Liz Cooper (Lighting Designer)

Liz is excited to be a part of another Black Button Eyes show! Some of her recent lighting design credits include Nevermore, Shockheaded Peter (Black Button Eyes), The Sundial, Bloodhound Law, Father Ruffian and Peyton Place (City Lit), Bard Fiction (Commedia Beauregard), Marisol, Winter's Tale, A Study in Scarlet and Henry V (Promethean).

Robert Hornbostel (Sound Designer)

Robert is a Designer, Composer, and Engineer based out of Chicago. In addition to doing sound for BBEP's productions of Nevermore and Amour, he's also worked with companies including Porchlight Music Theatre, New Millennium Theatre, Rivendell Theater, Roosevelt University, ChiArts High School, and Gliterati Productions. Robert won the 2015 BroadwayWorld Award for Best Sound Design, Non-Equity for his production of The Glass Protege. Robert would like to thank his fellow designers, family and friends for their constant support. Samples of his work can be found at Tech Magic Designs.

Beth Laske-Miller (Costume Designer)

Beth's previous costume design work with Black Button Eyes includes Nevermore, Shockheaded Peter, Amour, Goblin Market, and Coraline. She also works with Irish Theatre of Chicago (The My Way Residential, Lay Me Down Softly, The Seafarer, In Pigeon House, and Moon for the Misbegotten), Williams Street Rep (Sylvia, Little Shop of Horrors), Midsommer Flight (As You Like It, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing), Promethean Theatre Ensemble (A Study in Scarlet, The Caucasian Chalk Circle), and Hell in a Handbag (L’Imitation of Life).

Ed Rutherford (Director)

Directing for Black Button Eyes: Nevermore (Chicago premiere), Shockheaded Peter, Amour (Chicago premiere), Goblin Market, and Coraline (Midwest Premiere). He is an artistic associate with Promethean Theatre Ensemble, where he directed The Liar, his own adaptation of the Peter S. Beagle's The Last Unicorn, Brecht’s The Caucasian Chalk Circle and the company's inaugural production, Christopher Durang’s Beyond Therapy. Directing with Brown Paper Box Co: The Baltimore Waltz. As an actor, he's performed with Drury Lane Oakbrook, Porchlight, Theater Wit and many others. A graduate of Northwestern's theater program, he recently completed his MBA at Kellogg.

Derek Van Barham (Choreographer)

Derek Van Barham is the Associate Artistic Director of Pride Films & Plays and a member of the Red Tape Theatre ensemble. For PFP, he has directed Perfect Arrangement, Angry Fags (Steppenwolf Garage), Songs from an Unmade Bed (Jeff nomination), and (co-directing) PRISCILLA, Queen of the Desert: The Musical. Other directing credits include The View Upstairs (Circle Theatre), Three Days of Rain (Boho), Miracle! by Dan Savage (Hell in a Handbag), and HOT PINK (New American Folk Theatre). Choreography credits include The CiviliTy of Albert Cashier (Permoveo/PFP), Nevermore, Shockheaded Peter, Coraline (Black Button Eyes) and Salonathon. He was named one of Windy City Times 30 Under 30, recognizing Chicago's LGBTQ+ community. Up next: directing Homos, or Everyone in America with PFP.
